UTMC Project
The University of Tennessee Medical Center-KCD Project is a six year endeavor that began February 1, 2005.This project uses the resources and talents of the two organizations to provide full medical assess to deaf persons using on-site interpreters, training, and video remote interpreting technology. The satellite office is staffed by interpreter Becky Brown and can be reached by calling (865) 305-9795 or you can call KCD's main office at (865) 579-0832. This satellite office is open 20 hours a week.
Becky Brown
UTMC Interpreter/ EmerCorps Coordinator
Becky is a native to Knoxville and a Graduate of Maryville College in 1993 with her BA in sign language interpreting. She got involved with KCD at first as an intern, then after graduation as a receptionist, and then freelanced until 2003. After taking some time to be with her daughter Becky started working as the in-house interpreter for UTMC and took over as the EmerCorps coordinator in 2007.
