Karin Robertson
Karin Robertson was raised in Ft. Wayne, IN, before moving to Knoxville for the first time in 1993. She will be in her fourth year as a Transition Counselor at the Tennessee School for the Deaf this fall (after moving away for a few years, she discovered that Knoxville really is her home). Karin is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and a Certified School Social Worker. She is a 1991 graduate of Gallaudet University (BA/Social Work) and a 1995 graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (MSSW). Karin is serving her first term as a member of the KCD Board and is enjoying the experience. She is also serving as the Lead Teacher for the Youth Leadership Program at KCD. Karin is also a member of the Mayor's Council On Disabilities Issues (CODI), and previously chaired the KY Advisory Committee for Mental Health in 2004-2005 before moving back to Knoxville. Karin is the proud Aunt to nephew, Sidney (3-years old), and niece, Victoria (1-year old). She is also 'Mama' to her 6-year old cat, Alysheba.
